Carina Junior Rugby League Club Development Program

The Carina Junior Rugby League Club Development Program is aimed at helping the junior club as a whole to continually grow, develop and progress in all areas both on and off the field. The development manager works closely with the club executive and management committee to make decisions to improve the club and create a strategic plan to give the club direction for the future. Various roles to help improve the club consist of: increase and maintain playing numbers. Develop player’s skill levels, teach discipline and build character for life skills. Educate and update coaches and managers. Encourage parents and volunteers to be involved with the club and make it a family based organisation. Conduct club fundraising events. Build relationships with the local community through supporters and sponsors, upgrade club facilities and equipment. Work in partnership with the camp hill/carina welfare association, carina leagues club, brisbane broncos, arl/qrl,gbjrl and all other relevant partners.

The player development program is aimed at giving every player who plays junior rugby league with the carina club, the best opportunity to develop as a football player and also as a person. Players from the under 6 age group right through to the under 18 age group will be given development in the following areas: skills coaching clinics and games with the arl and brisbane broncos. Basic primary rugby league skill development amd technique correction. Education in nutrition and lifestyle. Introduction to strength and flexibility training. Secondary rugby league skill development and technique correction. Tactical game education. Introduction to goalsetting and sports psychology. Education on training and game preparation plus recovery. Senior players are invited to attend the club coach education sessions if they are interested in future coaching or in joining the management committee. Players will have had development in all areas of football and life skills when they reach the under 18’s age group . Players with the right attitude and ability will be selected along the way for representative teams and for elite squads that provide a pathway to play in the qld cup and the nrl competitions. The main focus in the development of all age groups is on fun and enjoyment and the love of the game.
